I’m always impressed when I see independent bands that just seem to tour all year long. It’s not easy, particularly when you don’t have the support of a major label or a dedicated fan base. I first heard of Finn Riggins last year and noticed they had a ridiculous amount of tour dates, and this time they seem to still be on a never-ending trek across the states. Finn Riggins play angular rock and feature a host of unusual instruments including the steel drum, which I’d be willing to bet you don’t associate with experimental indie rock. They’re accompanied by Horse Feathers from Portland, OR. Horse Feathers play quiet folk with strings and soft appalachian inspired vocals. Think Bonnie Prince Billy meets Ida in a cabin in the smokies.
