Come Back to the Five & Dime, Billy Blades

When I started crafting this post, we hadn’t heard from Worst Mayor Ever’s Billy Blades in a few months. Honestly we at Chattarati started to get nervous as we started teasing the Twitter waters about knowing the true identity of the pseudonymous Blades. In fact, we do not know who Billy Blades is. Just to set the record straight about what we know, despite many accusations, Billy Blades is no one associated with Chattarati or Mr. Josiah Q. Roe.

With that being said, with the announcement of three possible opposition candidates for Mayor, the return of “Billy” was welcomed but not entirely equal to the zeal we’ve seen in the past. When these new campaigns gather their 25 names and pass muster with the Election Commission, this is the time when we need a Billy Blades on the scene. We need someone to be the voice of the minority but we also need someone to be objective and give us the problems with his opposition.

What happens when it’s not Mayor Littlefield and his “minions” running a negative campaign but when it’s someone else? Does that warrant another anonymous person blogging about Rob Healy, Joe Lance, or Robert T. Nash? Or does it mean we should take a good look at the candidates instead of a blanket damnation of one singular political office. Or….do we discuss how we can change the playing field and as a community not rely on a Mayor to do what’s best?

Good and Bad, Light and Dark, everything in this world is a balance even if it’s some political office in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We need someone to point out the flaws, we need someone to be a vocal critic. In this local political season, we need someone to not only talk about what’s wrong, we need to talk about what’s right and what we can all do.
