When I was growing up, the Mountain Shadows / Rolling Ridge / Shadow Ridge area in East Brainerd would always net 10+ lbs of candy. I didn't carry a bucket or bag, I carried a big backpack!

after trick-or-treating in chattanooga for 18 years.. i have to say the best neighborhood, hands down.. is ashwood subdivision off shallowford road (near the ymca).. and we've done mountain shadows, windstone.. and many others. ashwood beat them all!!
the neighborhood is completely flat.. and it turns into a huge block party! the entire neighborhood participates in making the night a huge success! there are decorated homes throughout the neighborhood, hayrides, music, people grilling hot dogs.. they really make it fun for kids! and the candy.. my kids would have their buckets filled 2-3 times every year! seriously.. take your kids there! you won't be disappointed!

I grew up living off of Crestview and Gadd Road in Hixson in the late 80s/early 90s. Trick-or-Treating there involved dodging cars on the hills, redneck neighbors who were likely to shoot if their porch light wasn't on and old people who still gave out homemade treats.

My current subdivision just isn't as much fun.
