Senator Barack Obama has been elected the next President of the United States of America. As expected, Obama did not win the electoral votes for the state of Tennessee. Nor did he win the popular vote in Hamilton County, but many Chattanooga citizens—including the vast majority of the 75+ who attended our ChattUp Election Night party—were energized by the historic victory. In fact, there was a deafening chorus of cheers last night as we watched MSNBC call the election in favor of Barack Obama. And for the curious, here's what's going to happen next (hint: click refresh).

Chattup'08 was rad. Met tons of people I interact with on the interwebs everyday. (Joe Lance, John Hawbaker, Mike Kelley). Thanks to Chattarati, Coptix, and FMNT for a great evening.

I agree. Awesome event with a great, welcoming crowd. I only regret leaving at 10:48, to get home 2 minutes after 11 when it was officially announced... There were no deafening cheers in my apt.

I wasn't there. But did make it down to the Choo Choo for a huge onslaught of Obama fans. What an awesome experience.
