I'll get this one going. It's not surprising at all that Adams resigned. It was a no-win situation in a job that he doesn't need. The people of East Ridge want their city to be improved without footing the bill. To that end, it is more surprising that ER is a city.

As an East Ridge city resident, its pretty surprising that East Ridge is a city. As pointed out by Curtis Adams, Camp Jordan is our industrial sector. What do they make at Camp Jordan? The average mileage on some of those city owned vehicles is just barely higher than the average mileage of cars that I have purchased to drive. As for actually being a city, its amazing that Chattanooga didn't annex it a long time ago.

I'm curious as to what it would look like for East Ridge (and Red Bank) to be absorbed by Chattanooga. I can't imagine either going for it, given the stubborn, stodgy, got-my-tiny-bit-of-power people who run the both towns.

I can see the Chattarati headlines now for July 14, 2013:

"East Ridge Goes Bankrupt, Will Be Absorbed by Chattanooga, Taxpayers Remain Opposed to Tax Increase"

I'm more surprised that East Ridge hasn't had a tax increase in 20 years, and the uproar behaves as though they live in Denmark
