The Meeting Place, then the new AVO Lounge at CBC downtown.

    The Waffle House.

I miss Durty Nelly's before they tried to make it "friendly". It's a pub not a living room. I hate that they went away, now I'm trying to find a new spot.

    +1 on the AVO Lounge.

I do like the crazy new CBC, but sort of miss the old. I've had a good quiet happy hour beer at Market Street Tavern.

On one occasion, I went with a couple of friends to the Half Note on MLK. Now that was a drink.

I haven't found anything in this town quite like Cliff's Lounge in Lincoln, Nebraska, circa 2001. Perhaps Lamar's comes close. But, and you'll no doubt find this odd, I've never had a drink at Lamar's.

I'm kind of with Mike, in between spots. No Brass Register, no Stone Lion, no Durty Nelly's; where to?

Meantime, my favorite place in town for a drink is my house.

I would have to go with "the mouth."

Where: At my desk, all day - "Mad Men" style
    Occasion: any will do

wrote a whole paragraph - drink
    successfully answered telephone - drink
    spilled my drink - drink
    shot coworker - drink

    You get the idea.

    (also, AVO lounge is nice)

I really enjoy the Pickle Barrel, North Shore (Divorce Shore) grille, TMP and Hair of the Dog

Ummm... how is it that Lamar's has not appeared on this list?

That black velvet wallpaper... the Christmas lights... the BEST jukebox in the world. (Where else can you get Nina Simone and Portishead?) And the drinks that leave your memory as black as the soot stained ceiling.

    Mmmmm... I LOVE Lamar's!

    T-Bone's. No question about it.

Tremont Tavern... Anywhere that knows your name and that you can ride your bike to is first rate in my book. Special thanks to the State of TN for causing me to be seriously parched over the weekend but it looks like we're back in business. Happy drinking!

I know I should move on but....I still have to say that nothing current compares to the good times had The Stone Lion, whether it was hanging on the porch after a long day at work or tabbing out to Sinatra playing at 3am. Also, I found my cat and my husband at the sadly missed SL.
