Investing in Exposure

Mike Costa, Vice President and General Manager of NewsChannel 9, advocates for financial investments in sporting events like the NCAA Division I Football Championship and especially the Chattanooga Classic:

The Chattanooga Classic is an under utilized marketing tool for Chattanooga.  Because the tournament does not have a title sponsor, it is not broadcast live on cable on the Golf Channel.  What a tremendous loss of worldwide exposure for a city like ours.

 

Sports, sporting events are not just for the participants and the fans.  They are an asset for a community.  They bring revenue.  They bring exposure.  Let's make sure we don't lose two of the biggest jewels in our sports crown.

    I agree. And I would also like to add soccer to this list of under utilized sports assets in the city.
