Do This, Not That: The Distribution, Beast Feast, Baseball and Fireworks

By John Hawbaker | May 23, 2009, 11:44 a.m.

In addition to Rock City's Summer Blooms Festival and the north shore's Hip Fest/Who Fest combo, here are some other don't miss activities to make the most of your Memorial Day weekend in Chattanooga.

The Distribution

Saturday: The Distribution and Heypenny at JJ's Bohemia

Soul, R&B and rock. Three of the most energetic bands you're likely to see in the scenic city, The Distribution and Heypenny, along with opener Parachute Musical, make this show a sure bet for a great time on Saturday night. The music begins at 9:30 p.m.

Sunday: Beast Feast at the Chattanooga Market

If The Summer of Taco™ has taught you anything, it's that we love good food and competition—especially together. So naturally we were excited to hear about the Chattanooga Market's Beast Feast, a BBQ cookoff. Sample some of the city's best BBQ for a mere $5? Yes, please.

Sunday: Baseball and Fireworks at AT&T Field

The perfect combination for an all-American holiday weekend. The Chattanooga Lookouts face off against the Carolina Mudcats at 6:15 p.m. with fireworks show immediately after the game.

HillbillyWillys Bar-B-Q & Catering Co. was one of the competitors this year in the Beast Feast & would like to thank every person who attended & stood in the long lines to sample various bbq items. We would also like to thank the Chattanooga Market for putting this together.
