Live & Local host and Friend of the Site, Robert T. Nash, will feature the 2 mayoral candidates on WGOW 102.3 FM, today. The candidates will appear separately: Ron Littlefield at 1PM, followed by Rob Healy at 2PM. Mr. Smith has been invited as well, but there's been no word on his appearance, yet. Littlefield and Healy will take questions from RTN and local listeners during this time. If you can't get to a radio, stream the broadcast live from http://wgow.com.

I didn't get a chance to listen to Live & Local today (mainly because I don't listen to the show). Were the candidates actually on the show or did Mr. Nash try to pull off a Phil Hendrie like interview with himself and himself.
Just curious.

Unless RTN is a really good impersonator, they both answered caller questions for an hour each. I posted a few updates on my Twitter throughout, though I wasn't at a computer in the first half of the Littlefield hour.
All in all, it was a really good set of interviews, and RTN did a good job 'moderating.'

Thanks David. I do wish I could have listened today since I've missed most of the debates during this campaign. Either way, I appreciate your Twitter updates. Sounds like it was a good 2 hours of talk radio.

RTN showed his usual cowardice in interviewing the Mayor. After week of ranting about Freeman Cooper having an affair with a contract employee, trying to get her a fulltime job, buying her a car, etc etc etc, the ONLY question he asked about Cooper was whether or not he was going to ask Cooper to resign. Little Big Man loves to blather and bluster when he's the only one in the room, but when sees his targets face to face, he starts his stoop and bow routine. Nice journalism.

Dear RAZBDY,
If there's any coward here it's you, what with your "anonymous" Internet attacks on me. POINT OF FACT: I actually asked Mayor Littlefield if he had faith in Police Chief Freeman Cooper's ability to lead the Chattanooga Police Department. Your seeming inability to listen and comprehend plain English is now On Record. Again. Chief Freeman Cooper is paid well, and The People deserve better. I'll close by saying this Little Big Man just might faciliate your teeth scattering like Chiclets when - not if - the opportunity presents itself.
'Til Then,
Robert T. Nash

Now girls, you're both pretty.

Freeman (lol gotta love that name) Cooper is a tool of Littlefield. If there's anything wrong with the Chat .50, look no further than the snout of Littlefield. This is one chief who knows how to say "yes'sir, no sir" without a skip in the broken record. We are no a path to be the next Atlanta. Not just in crime, but in corruption. Vote March 3rd.
RAZBDY on Feb. 28, 2009
And you never asked a follow up mentioning the girlfriend, the car, the job, nothing. Considering you've been railing on Cooper nonstop for a couple of weeks, you had a golden opportunity to confront his boss with your "evidence" you have on Cooper. You said nothing about it. Stop pretending to be a journalist. You're just an entertainer.

Although I don't really have a dog in the fight, I enjoy reading the back-and-forth between you guys. For the record though RAZBDY, it's pretty cowardly attacking someone online without posting your personal information. You're free to say what you wish about RTN, but at least when he talks, he's not afraid to own up to what he says.
RAZBDY on March 1, 2009
RTN has used his public microphone to go after anyone that he doesn't like, and unless someone he attacks has their own radio show, you can't defend yourself. I have heard him disparage other Chattanoogans that dare to disagree with him, so I will not publish my name, which is my right as a citizen, tax payer, and homeowner. Call me a chicken if you will. But I don't think it's worse than using a public microphone to smear people without substantive evidence. By the way Kevin, what's your last name? Is Kevin your real name?
Kevin on March 1, 2009
You're right RAZBDY, it is your right. And it's also our right to give you ZERO credibility because you're afraid to stand behind what you say.
And yes, my name is Kevin. If you had clicked on my name you would have seen that. I didn't hide behind my computer so that you would not know who I am.
RAZBDY on March 1, 2009
I see that now, my apologies. If anonymity is your deal breaker for determining credibility for you, that's fine.
Kevin on March 1, 2009
It's nothing personal, RAZBDY, I just think if people talk about others, they should let their identity be known. Anyways....
City Employee on March 2, 2009
I do understand that sometimes you have to remain anonymous. I have been told on several occasions to support the mayor or else. Or not to be seen with or even online with different candidates even ones that are not running for mayor just outspoken towards the current administration. I myself have emailed talk radio, local tv and newspapers to make this election more visible. I emailed 102.3 and asked to show the balls that I'm used too and ask the mayor why he has ducked open debates and ask specific ?s and even laid them out to ask and nothing. This election should be important to all of us and it is to me. But I don't have a choice in being attached to anyone. Either way I loose...

I have to agree with City employee sometimes we have to be anonymous or things will definately get tough for you at work. I have had to keep my opinions to myself and seem as if I'm neutral. But, how I really feel will show on my ballot tomorrow on election day. That's what counts anyway.I won't be voting for Littlefield this go around. I've heard all the dirt coming out lately and it has really made me uneasy. However, I might have thought that it was just rumors or another tactic to win votes. The problem is the Mayor has kept the company and (unfortunately) depended on a few unsavory characters in hopes of staying connected and to win votes within the black community. It didn't work for me this time. My grandaddy told me that if you want to know what kind of man your dealing with then look at the company he keeps. I really wish the Mayor hadn't gotten himself in this situation.I really do. Just because a people work on the mayoral campaigne or has donated money doesn't mean that he or she should be rewarded or appointed to a job that their obviously unqualified to be in or hasn't earned it. That's wrong. The crime in this city is going up everywhere, not down. My neice was at basketball game at the Southside rec center last week and a big fight broke out. A bunch of teenagers fighting. The cops were called and before it was over with a teenager was arrested carrying a loaded gun and some more banned from the center, I hope. Same night something similar broke out at the Brainerd Recreation center. Our kids are telling us something just by their actions. The news is telling us something when a blind woman is beat up and robbed in her own home or a man shot in the head in his own yard. I could go on and on. Honestly, I'm just bummed at what all is going on in my city.I hope Rob Healy can clean it up if elected. If Littlefield is re-elected then please help us clean it up. Doesn't matter if people are black, white or hispanic just please help us clean Chattanooga up. No more favors, please.
