What do you get when you mix together a few jungle animals, some alcohol, a full moon, and Chattanooga's conservation-minded set? It's called Howl at the Moon, and it happens this Saturday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Chattanooga Zoo in Warner Park. Twenty bucks gets you in, and the event features a guided twilight tour.
The creature set to benefit from this year's edition is the endangered snow leopard. These long-tailed cats are gorgeous, and there are activities centered around them earlier in the day:
Representatives from the Snow Leopard Trust will be available from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. to discuss conservation efforts and how Chattanoogans can help. In addition, the Zoo will have family friendly activities and visitors can observe the Zoo’s snow leopards, Cheney and Kasimir, as they enjoy enrichment activities as well.
Cocktails, fellow hominids, and "Frank" the hyena (which might even stir from his slumber in the evening hours)—and did I mention that it's a full moon? Sounds like a good time. (Photo by Bernard Landgraf, courtesy of Wikimedia Commons)

Thanks for posting this. Having ties to the zoo, they need all the press they can get.

"the event features a guided twilight tour"
How can you have a "twilight" tour when the event is over at 8pm? In August.
Just curious.
